Retreat with Mooji

You are called by Truth.
A call that comes from the Soul of the Universe.
Satsang is the changing room in which you, the Buddha,
are slowly undressing from all your conceptual garments
into the nakedness of being.~ Mooji

All participants are required to attend the entire Retreat

Zmar is located in Odemira on the Alentejo coast of west Portugal, about one hour from Monte Sahaja, Sri Mooji's ashram. You can read more about Monte Sahaja on the Portugal page of this web site.

Please do not plan a visit to Monte Sahaja as part of your trip to the Silent Retreat; visiting Monte Sahaja is by invitation only, when the Karma Yoga program is open.

at Zmar in Portugal

Retreat with Mooji

The Retreat

This retreat is Sri Mooji's compelling invitation to everyone who is called by the inner voice of the Heart to come to complete freedom. In satsang and silent inquiry we are directly guided into the recognition of the pure Being we already are.

We will be in complete silence in an environment free from the usual demands, pressures and distractions of our daily lives and social interactions. Satsang sessions are conducted in a supportive and loving space presenting a great opportunity to discover, directly and permanently, the inherent silence, wisdom and completeness that we truly are.

Sri Mooji is also very happy to share this Silent Retreat online via live internet broadcast. For those who feel they would like to participate in this retreat yet for some reason cannot travel, this is their opportunity to be fully present and immersed in the spirit of satsang in this way.

More details about the Online Silent Retreat and how to register will be posted on on 27th April
For those participating online, the broadcast recordings will be available for up to two weeks after the end of the retreat.

If you have any questions about the online retreat broadcast please write to Este endereço de e-mail está protegido de spam bots, pelo que necessita do Javascript activado para o visualizar .

All satsang sessions will be recorded. The recordings will be available in video and audio format in the online shop a few weeks after the retreat.

Retreat with Mooji

Being in Satsang,
you as ego are being scooped out
from inside and
replaced with emptiness.
But it is not a dead emptiness.
It is the living spirit of God.~ Mooji

An Introduction

It is required that those wishing to register for this retreat watch these two videos before processing their application.

for the Silent Retreat with Sri Mooji

  • It is important that all retreat participants respect and abide by the silence for the full period of the retreat. Sri Mooji honours and serves our persistence and determination for complete Self-discovery.
  • Satsang offers the opportunity to present our questions, doubts, testimonies and observations to Sri Mooji. We are highly encouraged to be open, honest and natural with him.
  • Please move quietly with your attention resting in silent awareness. It is required that there be strictly no physical contact, talking, singing, reading, writing or use of the internet.
  • If you are attending the retreat with a partner or friend, you agree to not communicate with each other during the period of the retreat. Sri Mooji encourages you to respect the satsang of your loved one and the other retreat participants by making use of this opportunity and remaining alone in your own silence.
  • You are asked to abstain from taking alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants except for medication prescribed by your doctor.
  • Be aware that the walking distance from the accommodations to the satsang hall can be a 10 – 20 minute walk on unpaved paths. We are not able to provide any support for those who are unable to move independently.
  • Moving in silence in a large group requires patience, sensitivity and cooperation for the smooth flow of the retreat (for example, a queue at meal times may be a bit longer than we might prefer). This can seem challenging, but is a beautiful opportunity for our satsang as we all lay our individual needs aside.
  • By participating in this silent retreat you agree that your image and voice may be recorded for the sharing of satsang via the internet or other media. All recorded material will only be used to serve satsang; images of all individuals will be treated with the utmost respect.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
